Multi Component Balances
The balance is of the same general type as the balance. However it is suitable for smaller ship models than would otherwise be used.
Technical Data of Multi Component Balances:
The balance can be used with transducers of the same capacity for measurement of forces and moments as the balance. The lower beam of the multi-component balance is attached firmly to the ship model. The upper beam of the balance is connected via a horizontal linkage to the fork-type support which surrounds the balance and which is connected to the CPMC. The intermediate linkage allows the ship model to alter sinkage during tests up to +80mm and to alter trim angle up to +10°.
